Autumn is heating up.

I can’t quite believe I’ve not posted since my album launch in July as I seem to be online a lot these days, aren’t we all, and there is always much to do. The launch was great. I was pretty nervous singing on home territory. At the launch itself in An Lanntair (the Arts Centre), I knew everyone in the audience (and had been taught by most of them) but the Hebridean Celtic Festival is such a great event once I got the launch going I had a grand time. Big thanks go to Brian Mcalpine and Alasdair White for accompanying me. Those boys are such fine musicians. Alasdair had his own commission An Iuchair for the Festival, which I also really enjoyed, and was MC at the Festival club so it was a busy time for him. IMG_2664

I managed to catch up with a few of my school pals. I’ve known Anne-Marie here on the far right since I was 4 years old and Margaret in the middle sine I was 11. (Just yesterday…!!)

Shine performed too and we caught up with Brian Mcalpine, Alasdair White, Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw, The Treacherous Orchestra, Shooglenifty and made some new friends: Vincent Goss, Jamie Smith’s Mabon and listened to the new band Halcyon.

Then there was a trip to the Cleveland Irish Festival immediately after with The StepCrew. It was a busy few weeks.  Teagan

Since then I have been working a lot with Shine preparing for our upcoming ‘Fire & Frost’ tour in December. I know it might be a somewhat early to be talking the ‘festivities’ but if our EP is to be ready in time we have to put the work in now. We had a fun time and some beautiful weather recording in The Elm Studio in Fife, I went running in the sunshine every morning. Then when I was back over in Scotland in early September we spent a glorious evening recording some video footage to promote the tour in the wonderful Rosslyn Chapel just out side Edinburgh. I’ll be posting that once it is edited so keep an eye on the website. If you have never been to Rosslyn Chapel it is well worth a visit. I’ve known it for years but it was made ‘famous’ by Dan Brown’s ‘Da Vinci code’. It has always had strong links to the Knights Templar. Here are our December tour listings. Mark your diaries..please. Oulu

At the beginning of October I was back out on the road with The Chieftains in Oulu, Finland it was a super weekend – despite flight issues – and this Sunday I came back from a short sold out tour in Germany with gigs in Oberotterbach, Frankfurt and beautiful Bavaria.

Photo 10-10-2015, 15 02 02Photo 10-10-2015, 22 02 49 There is much work to be done over the next few months as I’m heading to China with The Chieftains (I’ve never been before so am very excited) and then Shine are off on tour for most of December which we are really looking forward to. We’ve several blocks of rehearsal time booked in for that as we want it to be the best it can be. However hopefully it won’t be 3 months before my next post. Thank you for taking the time to pop by….and don’t be forgetting to celebrate Halloween! Wooohaaahaaahaaa.

Greetings! I saw you a few times with the Chieftans over here in Boston and enjoyed the shows and your voice. God was good to you 🙂 I am visiting my niece at St. Andrew’s in a few weeks. Are you playing anywhere in Scotland near there at that time? I just thought I’d check just in case. Since you are a runner…..Happy trails 🙂

HI Jack, Thank you for getting in touch. St. Andrew’s in a nice town. I’m sure your niece will be enjoying it.

I am performing in Scotland but not till the 4th December when I’ll be touring with a trio I work with called Shine. This might be a little late for your trip but, just in case, details can be found here I will be posting dates on my own website shortly. It is a while since The Chieftains played Boston. I think the last time was the year of the fire that outted half the city. I remember it being very cold in our hotel but we still managed to have a good time. It’s a great city. If we don’t see you in Scotland maybe we’ll catch you in Boston next March? I do try to keep my website updated regularly so thank you for the little nudge! 😉 Best wishes, Alyth
