Hi Alyth, I saw the song School Days Over on the Letterman show with the Chieftains and the Low Anthem and it is one of my favorites of all time! I have shared it with all friends and relatives. Your beauty and stage presence captivated me and, consequently, I have listened to and acquired many of your songs already. Too bad your tour is not scheduled for Atlanta. However, I wish you continued success and will look forward to future performances.

I was among those lucky souls who were present for the show with the Chieftains on March 16 at the Kennedy Center. Awesome! I’ve been listening to all things Alyth ever since. My grandmother used to say that there was no instrument more beautiful than the human voice – and you are the living proof!

Hi Russ, Thank you for your kind words. The voice actually came from my own Grandmother. She was an inspiration. Best wishes. Alyth

I saw the concert with the Chieftains in Aliso Viejo CA, and my favorite number of the night (and that’s saying something) was your singing “Carrickfergus.” I’ve never heard such a gorgeous, clear, pitch-perfect rendition of that lovely song. As I looked around me at the sold-out crowd, many people (like me) had tears in their eyes. I do hope you record that sometime – I want to hear it again. Go raibh maith agat!

Hello Alyth, Happy to see you at Japan tour 2011, Yaizu and Hikone. You looks good in red. Would you tell me your relationship with Harris Tweed?

HI Shinji, Thank you for your message. I really enjoyed my time in Japan. I got home yesterday and was sad to leave as we had a great tour and found the Japanese people very giving and friendly. I hope I’ll be back over again next year. Regards my relationship with Harris Tweed: I am a big fan of this cloth. It is made specifically on the Islands that I grew up on and my Grandpa was a weaver. I was wearing Harris Tweed while I performed in Japan. It is a beautiful cloth. It reminds me very much of my home and my childhood. I love the smell of it and it’s wonderful colours. I am happy to promote it and support the industry. There are a great selection of products available now some can be viewed here: Wishing you well.

I happened across your music on iTunes today and wondered why I hadn’t heard you before. I love your voice and your music and will try to see you in concert. Thank you for cheering me up on a day when I needed a lift.

Alyth, such a pleasure to see you on the BBC programme TWEED. I was in Stornoway for the event earlier this year and saw your wedding dress first hand, and met Ann the designer. With the Orb Mark centenary being planned for Autumn 2010, I hope that you will continue your tremendous passion for Harris Tweed and being such a wonderful ambassador for the cloth and the islands.
