Alyth and Triona met back in 2008 when Alyth began working with The Chieftains. Partick De Loecker of the Gooikoorts Festival in Belgium had heard Alyth sing and was interested in booking her for the Festival but he had a speciific gig in mind – a concert mass held on the Sunday of the festival every year. For this he decided it would be particularly special for Alyth to be accompanied by Triona on the harp. It was an interesting gig, the girls playing a different song for each seperate part of the mass not something either of them were accustomed to, but it worked and out of that a new duo was born.

Their material has developed since then finding new songs to add to their repertoire of both traditional Scottish Gaelic and Irish music and in January of this year they headed into the studio in Aberdeenshire to record their first album. Here is a taster: Chicago Rain
