Ályth McCormack ist eine der führenden schottischen Interpretinnen gälischer Songs, sie ist außerdem noch Schauspielerin und war – last but not least – die Sängerin der „Chieftains“, einer der weltweit bekanntesten Irish Folk Bands. Mit den „Chieftains“ tritt sie in großen Hallen vor tausenden von Menschen auf, denn die Band hat Kultstatus. Ályth McCormack zieht es dennoch immer wieder auf kleinere Bühnen, wo man direkt mit dem Publikum kommunizieren und Stimmungen aufnehmen kann. Diese Intimität ist ihr wichtig.
