Riskiere Gefühle – songs to let the light in, heißt ihr neues Programm.

Back at FiF after the terrific concert in November 2021: Andy Irvine, one of the most influential driving forces of the newer Irish folk scene. He is known worldwide as a bouzouki, mandolin and mandola player, is one of the great Irish singers and a founding member of legendary Irish groups Sweeney's Men and Planxty, who has also performed with De Dannan and Paul Brady, with Patrick Street, Usher's Island and Mozaik played. Irvine is considered an imaginative arranger who knows how to prepare traditional material in a new, fresh way. His songs are stories of the politically persecuted, of emigrants, of working class heroes, and of his experience as a traveling singer who has sung almost all over the world. In 2018 he received the Folk Award for his life's work from RTE-Radio.

Ályth McCormack is one of the leading Scottish interpreters of Gaelic songs, she is also an actress and - last but not least - the singer of the Chieftains, one of the world's best-known Irish folk bands. With the Chieftains she performs in large halls in front of thousands of people because the band has cult status. Nevertheless, Ályth is always drawn to smaller stages, where you can communicate directly with the audience and absorb the atmosphere. This intimacy is important to her. Risk your feelings – songs to let the light in is the name of your new programme. They are very personal songs, songs that get under your skin, that touch you and make you think - sung in Gaelic and in English.
